Begin your search for information in the library, but don't stop there.  
Here are some other places to look for help.


Tons of great information and all the books in Rhode Island at your fingertips.  Save on gas and have your books sent to your neighborhood library.

Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gives you a list of sites that are legal to download music from.

A subject web search for kids -- made by librarians.  

Search for information, watch movie clips, learn some new jokes, play a sports game.

Verizon provides us with a website that searches educational sites for school related subjects.  You can even search by your grade level to get just the right information.

The American Library Association does a terrific job searching out the best websites just for you.  Find your favorite author's webpages, read and learn about your favorite animals, look at a view of the Earth from the Sun, and much more.

Ever wonder what language they speak in Zimbabwe or what the climate is like in Uzbekistan? Need a map on a country?  You have to go to Atlapedia!  This site will give you facts on every country in the world.   
World Book Kids is based on World Book's Student Discovery Encyclopedia and is loaded with tons of pictures and is easy to read.  There are games and activities and Atlas the dog.
Ask RI is a great site that is available to all Rhode Island residents.  You can ask a reference question to a librarian, or even get help from a live tutor.  Just use the numbers on your library card to sign in.
Available through AskRI, Paws in Jobland has over 100 careers to get you on the right path.  You may need to click on a yellow bar to allow pop-ups on this site.
Here is a link to all of the World Book sources that are available online...Digital Libraries, Specialty Sites, and Encylopedias for all ages.  If you are a FIOS customer, you will need to use the numbers on your library card to sign in.
Answer questions and narrow down your Internet search.  NoodleTools will help you with your research strategy and even suggest websites to start with.
Find a play, skit or monologue by grade or subject.  Complete with lesson plans and RI standards to match.
