Library Mission Statement

 

The mission of the Winman Junior High School Library Media Center is “to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.  This mission is accomplished:

  • by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
  • by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
  • by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.”

Circulation Policies

  • Students may check out up to three items at any given time.
  • Books and magazines circulate for three weeks.
  • Current issues of magazines do not circulate.
  • Overdue fines are not charged but students are encouraged to return books on time.  Books overdue more than one week may result in detention.
  • Library users are responsible for the cost of replacing lost or damaged materials.
  • Faculty members may check out an unlimited number of materials for as long as they are needed, provided that no one else has requested an item.
  • Videos are available for circulation by faculty members only.
