We, the members of the Warwick Veterans Governance Organization
In order to set forth the highest possible standards for ourselves and future
organizations and to establish a more consistent, unified, and democratic
school environment, do hereby declare and establish this constitution
to be the governing document of our school.

We, the incorporators of this document, strongly believe in the idea of
democratic government on a senior high level by providing a representative
forum for individual expression. We propose that this constitution shall
enhance the quality of life at our school by insuring our rights, outlining
our responsibilities, and providing a means for the positive overall
functioning of our school...Constitution of Warwick Veterans Governance.doc(click on the link for the entire Governance Constitution)

Governance-

Senate comprised of students, faculty, parents, staff, and administration- that determines policy for the school.  All positions are
elected.  It’s more than just the voice of the students but it is the voice of everyone at Warwick Vets.  Governance is the body that
makes our school democratic.  Through this organization school policies can be questioned and even changed through legislation.
Anyone can propose a new piece of legislation by completing Governance Proposal Form."  Governance proposal form.doc

The Fairness Committee-
Is a group within Governance that exists to address student and teacher grievances that arise from Warwick Veterans High School’s policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.  There are nine members; four students, four faculty members, and one staff member.  The Fairness Committee functions somewhat like a jury.  Its members determine information pertinent to each case, hear each member’s opinion and reasons, and come to consensus decision.

What are grievances?
A grievance is a complaint or resentment, as against an unjust or unfair act.
Examples of grievances are: unfair suspensions or detentions, objections to failure to obey a school rule or not being permitted to participate in a school activity such as the Follies.  Grievances such as these and other related ones can be brought to the Fairness Committee and will be appropriately addressed.  To file a grievance complete the "Fairness Committee Form."  Fairness Committee form.doc
