Just
recently Winman competed in a variety of compititons at the Rhode Island Mall
in the TSA (Technology Student Association) Compititon and Exposition on March
24th in 6 different compititions. The compititions included: Robotics,
CO2 racers, Digital Photography, Website Design, Graphic Design, & Computer
Aided Drafting & Design (CADD). Winman won several awards including:

Transportation Center Robotics Challenge
May 14, 2007
On May 14th Mrs. Susan Morgan & Mr. Jeff Perry
from the Technology Department took students to URI in order to compete in both a robotics
transportation challenge & an informational poster design where students had
to inform the public about transportation careers in the state of Rhode
Island. Winman came in 2nd
place in the state in both challenges!

Youth Art Month.

The Social
Studies department would like to commend the 8th grade Honor
students for their fine History Day projects! The competition was keen this
year because of their outstanding efforts. The year-long project culminated
with the judging on Thursday, March 15th. The winners of this year’s
competition are:

March 3rd La Salle Academy
The following students participated
in the compitition:
Christina Bedetta, Daniel Farina,
Austin Jaspers, Matt Lima, Jillian Procopio, & Giana Solitro.
Florence Restrepo placed 2nd
in the state in the Level 1 Category B (a student that has had exposure to
Italian or other romantic languages).
Daniel Farina placed 3rd
in the state in level 1 Category A (a student has only studied it in the
classroom).
Our
first trial is on Friday April 27th at 12:30. Our opponent will be
Wheeler so it promises to be a great contest. It will be held at the Warwick
Police Station in the Community Room (aka Traffic Court).
