Welcome everyone! I'm Mrs. Robinson, and welcome to my webpage! This has been a work in progress updating from the last version of my webpage I'm glad that you've decided to check it out. If you have any questions please contact me at: Robinsonje@warwickschools.org First of all the most common question when students are investigating whether they are interested in taking Technology Classes at Winman Junior High School is what is Technology Education? Technology Education is the study of many devices and techniques that enable human beings to extend their capabilities, and make life easier. Technology falls into five different areas. These areas are: Communications, Manufacturing, Energy & Transportation, Construction, and Biotechnology. You would enjoy Technology Classes if... You like to build objects. You like to be creative. You like to solve problems. You like to learn new things. You like to fix objects. You like to see where all the information you learn in your other classes is going to be used. The most important idea in the realm of Technology is making sure that you are able to problem solve! Problems are the basis (or cause) of why Technology is created! For example, I am short therefore if I use a stool to help me reach
things this is a form of technology! Technology does not necessarily have to be a computer, it is very frequently a tool to aid in accomplishing a task. Currently we are wrapping up another great year of designing a variety of objects. Please feel free to check it out! |
The steps are: |
- Identifying a problem - Brainstorming and researching in order to resolve the problem - Sketching potential solutions to solve the problem - Draw the final solution (with detailed information) - Build the solution - Evaluation of the solution - Feedback to improve the product |
In this class you will learn also how to produce & build several types of designed object. They are: |
- 2D Isometric - Architectural (Floorplans and Elevation Views) - 3 View Orthographic - Solid Modeling - Interior Design |
Some of the various types of objects my classes have designed are (but are not limited to): |
- Entertainment Centers - City Layouts - Car Interiors - Airport Design - Area Renovations - House Design - Movie Theatres - Mall Layouts - Prototype Layout & Design - Twin Tower Memorials - Cafeteria Designs - Endtable & Furniture Design - Newspaper Furniture |
